Check University City ZIP Codes

Use a University City ZIP code directory as an address check, not as a list of people. A postal code can help narrow a search, compare an old mailing line with a parcel, or sort records from nearby communities. The answer still starts with the full street address. Postal boundaries and municipal limits serve different purposes, so a University City address may need checking in more than one official system before a record can be matched with confidence.

University City ZIP Code Coverage

The University City ZIP code directory begins with address examples documented in local and regional sources. They are not a complete map of the municipal footprint. The USPS ZIP Code Lookup is the source to check a particular delivery address. A ZIP is a postal service area, while University City is a municipal boundary inside St. Louis County. That difference is why the table identifies the evidence and leaves unverified coverage unstated.

No official source captured a complete citywide USPS result, ZIP-only status, station names, population totals, registration totals, or a history of ZIP splits. The four rows are verified address examples, not a claim that every University City address uses one of these codes. Do not add a code from a nearby map alone. A full delivery address is the necessary check.

University City ZIP Address Examples

Address-level evidence is more useful than a general ZIP map. The city’s community directory identifies Agudas Israel at 8202 Delmar Boulevard, University City, Missouri 63124. State finance material identifies a University City address at 8609 Olive Boulevard with 63132. University City sources repeatedly use 63130, while 63105 appears in authoritative regional records for the county-seat and adjacent edge. Each example illustrates an overlap or boundary question, not a rule that applies to every nearby block.

Start with the address as written on the document. Compare its house number, street, municipality, and ZIP with USPS, then compare the same street address in county property records. A postal city may be Saint Louis, Clayton, or another name even when the parcel lies inside University City, and the reverse can also happen. The research did not capture representative USPS output for every edge address or a date for any postal realignment. Those details should be confirmed live rather than inferred.

University City ZIP Lookup Modes

USPS provides three useful modes. By Address takes a street address, optional company and unit line, city, state, and an optional ZIP narrowing field. By City and State returns ZIPs associated with a postal city, while Cities by ZIP returns standardized city names tied to a ZIP. For University City research, use Missouri as the state and enter the address as the postal service recognizes it. The city or county name should not be substituted for the postal city field.

By AddressEnter delivery street address, city, and state; company, unit, and ZIP can further narrow the request.
By City and StateEnter a postal city and state to retrieve associated ZIP information.
Cities by ZIPEnter one ZIP to retrieve standardized city names associated with that postal code.
Result useUse the result to standardize or verify the address before matching it to a county record.

USPS warns that a ZIP result does not confirm that a person or organization is at an address. Postal standardization and database changes can also take time to appear. That makes the official tool a delivery-validation layer for a ZIP code directory, not a substitute for a name or property search.

University City ZIP Property Fields

The St. Louis County Real Estate Search does not show a ZIP-wide field on its default screen. It instead offers four documented modes. That limitation matters. A ZIP can verify the mailing form of an address, but it cannot be used there as a documented filter for every parcel in the code. Choose Property Address when starting from a street address, rather than assuming the default locator-number field will interpret it as a street search.

Assessor fieldSupported useZIP capability documented?
Locator NumberDefault search mode with a strict locator formatNo
NameSearch by owner or name entryNo
Property AddressSearch a situs street address after selecting the address modeNo
Subdivision NameSearch the subdivision field when a street form is uncertainNo

The county tax-payment search likewise exposes property number, owner name, and address inputs with All, Real Estate, and Personal Property filters. A ZIP filter was not observed. For a street-level parcel path after an address is confirmed, use the University City streets directory rather than trying to treat a ZIP as a parcel key.

University City ZIP Code Workflow

A careful University City ZIP code workflow keeps postal validation separate from the record systems that identify a parcel or confirm registration. Begin with the exact street address and preserve the result from each step. A mismatch is useful information. It may reveal a postal-city convention, an edge address, a stale address form, or simply a typing error that needs correction before further research.

  1. Run the full delivery address through the USPS lookup and save the standardized postal result.
  2. Use the same street address in the county Real Estate Search, selecting Property Address rather than the default locator mode.
  3. Compare the parcel with the St. Louis County GIS parcel layer, which can provide parcel geometry and identifier context.
  4. If a current registration question is relevant, use the Missouri voter lookup with name, address, and St. Louis County. It is not a ZIP-only resident roll.
  5. Record whether the postal city, situs address, parcel locator, and registration address agree or differ, then investigate the specific difference.

Do not infer that a person is connected to a parcel just because a postal code matches. The assessor, GIS, voter system, and USPS each organize information around a different key and purpose.

University City ZIP Code Boundaries

University City’s history adds a reason to be cautious with modern address labels. The city grew from Mount Olive and Sutter Valley, and Delmar was once called Bonhomme before its route changed in the E.G. Lewis development. Current addresses can therefore sit in an older subdivision or street context. The research did not find a formal citywide renumbering project or a complete address-assignment history. Historical directories, plats, legal descriptions, City Clerk records, and Planning material are better ways to test a suspected street-name or number change.

The city’s historic-district map identifies areas such as Delmar Loop-Parkview Gardens, Parkview, Sutter-Meyer, Maryland Terrace, University Heights #1, Linden-Kingsbury, and Olive Boulevard. When an address search fails, try a subdivision or district name in the assessor’s supported field. A map can help locate a parcel, but GIS does not establish the postal service boundary. Note: Postal geography and city geography must be compared address by address at the edge.

University City Postal and Parcel Keys

A useful comparison is postal result versus parcel result versus voter record. The same location can appear under different labels without creating a contradiction. Postal data answers how mail is addressed. County property data answers which parcel and situs address the county recognizes. Voter data is a limited identity-and-registration check. Looking at the keys side by side prevents a ZIP code directory from being mistaken for a city-boundary or resident list.

SystemPrimary keyWhat it can confirmWhat it does not establish
USPSDeliverable address and ZIPPostal city and ZIP relationship for the addressMunicipal limits, parcel ownership, or who is at the address
County assessorLocator, name, property address, or subdivisionCounty parcel and situs contextA documented ZIP-wide parcel list
County GISParcel geometry and identifierMapped parcel and related county contextPostal service boundary or household membership
Missouri voter lookupName, address, and countyLimited registration check when the form matchesA ZIP-only list or protected-address record

The voter statute includes ZIP among maintained address fields, but the public lookup is structured around name, address, and county. The public route should not be used to build a code-wide list. Protected addresses and Safe at Home participants require special care, and a no-match does not by itself show that someone moved.

University City ZIP Code Terms

These terms keep the University City ZIP code directory focused on what the research supports. The research documented USPS address, city/state, and ZIP modes, but it did not establish University City-specific PO Box, unique ZIP, or carrier-route status. Do not fill those gaps from a general map or neighboring address.

ZIP
A postal code attached to an address for mail routing. It is not the same thing as a University City municipal boundary.
ZIP+4
An added address-level postal suffix. No University City ZIP+4 coverage or allocation information was located in the research.
PO Box ZIP
A postal code used for Post Office box service. No official University City PO Box-only ZIP status was located.
Unique ZIP
A postal designation that can be assigned for one organization or use. No University City unique-ZIP status was located in the captured sources.
Carrier route
A mail-delivery grouping within postal operations. No University City carrier-route data was captured for these records.

University City ZIP Code Limits

Only four ZIP examples have address-level support in the available research: 63130, 63124, 63132, and the adjacent-edge 63105 evidence. The research did not support a complete ZIP footprint, station names, a population count by ZIP, voter totals by ZIP, a complete parcel filter, or historical reassignment claims. A live USPS lookup remains the required check for each target address.

Use postal information for family-history, property-curiosity, or civic research with care. Never use it to stalk, harass, or harm another person. When an address matters, preserve the USPS result and compare it with the county record custodian’s entry. Note: A careful mismatch report is better than an unsupported claim that a whole ZIP belongs to University City.
